Tell Me What Happened
Then, you tell me what happened. The whole story. We’ll slow it down and separate how it felt from what actually happened.
Parent coaching services
And you’re exhausted.
How does parent coaching work?
You’ve been doing that just fine.
You’ve raised a strong, healthy, smart, sassy Future Adult who’s upright, breathing, and fully capable of having an opinion about everything you do—so clearly, you’ve done something right.
The problem isn’t that you suddenly forgot how to parent.
Your kid is growing, changing, and processing the world differently than they did before. The buttons that used to work don’t work anymore. The old shortcuts keep sending you to an error screen. And every time you think you’ve cracked the code, here comes another update.
That’s where I can help.
Are You Ready to Get Started?Read the code
We look at how they think, how they process the world, what their biology is doing, and what their behavior is actually telling you—so you can understand why the same conversations keep becoming the same arguments and figure out what to do differently.
I’m not giving you a new parenting manual.
I’m helping you understand the system you’re working with now.
Because once you understand the code, you can stop fighting the system—and start making it work for you.
Context Before Correction
The little kid that told you everythingwas supposed to start developing privacy.
The child that believed everything you saidwas supposed to start questioning you.
The kid whose entire world revolved around youwas supposed to start building a world outside of you.
They were supposed to grow.
And now you have to grow with them.So take a breath.
They’re growing. You’re adjusting. And both of you are trying to figure out how to love each other through the change.
Some of what you’re experiencing isn’t your relationship falling apart. It’s development happening in real time. Now, let’s be clear.
That doesn’t mean disrespect is okay. It doesn’t mean boundaries disappear. And it definitely doesn’t mean you have to become an emotional punching bag because “their frontal lobe isn’t fully developed.”
No.
It means before we decide how to respond to the behavior, we need to understand what the behavior is communicating.
Context before correction.
Because when you understand what’s happening beneath the behavior, you can respond to the kid you actually have — not the kid you remember.
Sound familiar?
Does every conversation somehow become an argument—even when you swear you weren’t trying to argue? They’re ready with a rebuttal, a counterpoint, 3 pieces of evidence they’re ready to defend and a closing statement you did not ask for.
You’re both talking. Neither one of you feels heard. Let’s slow the pattern down and figure out where the conversation keeps going left.
Do they say all the right things, apologize, promise to do better... and then do the exact same thing again? Nothing changes, the behavior continues, rinse and repeat.
The conversation may be ending, but that doesn’t mean anything is changing. Agreement isn’t always understanding—and compliance isn’t the same as buy-in.
Do you feel like you care more about their future than they do? You’re pushing. Reminding. Encouraging. Threatening. Begging. And they’re giving you... nothing.
Let’s figure out what actually matters to the kid you’re trying to motivate.
Are you constantly questioning whether you’re doing too much or not enough? And it doesn’t help that your kid knows every exception you’ve ever made, every rule you worded poorly, and every precedent established in your Household Court of Law since 2019.
You set a boundary and then feel guilty. You give grace and wonder if you’re being too soft. Let’s separate fear, frustration, and outside noise from what your kid and your family actually need.
Does your kid tell you absolutely nothing... until suddenly you find out EVERYTHING? You ask how was school? — Fine. Who are you talking to? — Nobody. Anything going on? — Nope. Then the school calls and you’re like: I’M SORRY, WHAT?!
You can’t support what you don’t know exists. Let’s look at why communication has shut down and how to create more opportunities for honest conversation without turning every question into an investigation.
Do you keep having the same problem, the same conversation, and giving the same consequence—with the same damn result? You talked about it. They understood. You made a plan. And somehow... here we are again.
If the pattern keeps repeating, the pattern is evidence. Let’s stop asking, “How many times do I have to say this?” and start asking what the repetition is trying to tell us.
Okay... But What Are We Actually Gonna Do?
How old is your kid? Where are they developmentally? What do I already know about them—and what do I still need to learn?
Then, you tell me what happened. The whole story. We’ll slow it down and separate how it felt from what actually happened.
We’ll look for patterns, talk through similar situations, and try to understand what may be happening beneath the behavior.
And I’ll help you see the situation from another angle. Because perspective is a funhouse mirror. Your version of what happened is shaped by where you’re standing—and so is theirs. The truth usually lives somewhere between the two.
That means we may have to look at your part, too. Don’t worry. I’m not here to beat you up. I’m here to help you figure out what you can do differently, what language may work better, and how to communicate your boundaries and consequences in a way your kid can actually understand.
Then, we make a plan for the next conversation. And if we’ve reached the point where talking about each other isn’t getting us anywhere? We’ll pull up a chair. It may be time for Finding Common Ground.
Great!! Now, How Do We Start?
Let’s figure out what you need and get to work.
Intros & Insights
Before I can help you understand your kid, I need to understand who we’re talking about.
We’ll talk all about your kiddo, your relationship with them, what’s been happening, and what finally made you say, “Okay... I need some help.”
This isn’t about solving everything in one conversation. It’s about figuring out what we’re actually looking at.
D³ Parent Coaching
Bring me the argument. The pattern. The conversation you keep having. The behavior you can’t make sense of.
DIVULGE. Tell me what happened. The whole story. The frustration, the history, the part that made you say, “I’m sicka this lil’ girl.”
DISCUSS. We’ll slow it down, look at development, biology, patterns, perspective, and behavior—and yes, your part too.
DETERMINE. We’ll figure out what you can do differently, give you language you can actually use, and make a plan for what comes next.
